what is guru diksha

The word initiation is derived from the Sanskrit word daksha which means to be skilled. Its synonymous meaning is extension. Another source for this is the word diksha which means surrender. Hence the whole meaning of initiation is the expansion of oneself. Through initiation, this power arises in the disciple that the inner light is ignited in the disciple by the energy received from the Guru, in whose light he is able to see the purpose of his existence. Initiation leads to the destruction of imperfection and the purification of the soul.

Guru has a direct relationship with God. When such a Guru transfers some part of his spiritual/pranic energy to a dedicated disciple, this process is called Guru Diksha. This is the first step in the spiritual journey. After the initiation of the Guru, the disciple becomes the heir to the spiritual authority of the Guru. Guru Diksha is such a system in which a relationship is formed between the Guru and the disciple at the level of the soul, due to which the flow of energy between the Guru and the disciple becomes easy. After the initiation of the Guru, the responsibility of both the Guru and the disciple increases. The responsibility of the Guru is to remove all the obstacles and take the disciple to the zenith of spirituality. At the same time, the responsibility of the disciple is to follow the rules laid down by the guru in every situation.

Guru Purnima 2021:When does initiation take place?

Guru Purnima 2021:When our antarkaran (mind) becomes pure then initiation takes place. Briefly understand the meaning of Shuddha, when the inner mind (mind) becomes like a naive child, that child neither thinks bad about anyone nor thinks good about anyone. That is, the mind of that child is neither raga (love) nor aversion (enmity) with the world. When the conscience of a person reaches this stage by putting his mind in God. Then the real Guru will make your conscience divine. Then the real Guru or Saint or Mahapurush gives you the Guru Mantra or Diksha. Now the time has come for initiation, when the conscience becomes pure. Before this initiation cannot be given because our conscience cannot handle that supernatural power.

If a guru gives initiation to someone forcibly without becoming an officer, then that person’s body will be shattered to pieces. That unauthorized person can’t bear it. The conscience of our (maya subordinate jiva) is so weak that it cannot bear that initiation (supernatural power/divine bliss, divine love bliss). We cannot handle the happiness and sorrow of the world. Like if a poor person opens a lottery worth crores, then his senses are blown away. If someone’s lover-lover or parents leave the world, then even that person cannot handle his grief. So how can anyone handle this supernatural power (divine bliss). This initiation is of many types.

Types of initiation

Sparsh initiation, Draag initiation, Manas initiation power, Shambhavi, Mantric initiation.

Touch initiation

Like a bird slowly grows babies with its beautiful feathers. This type of initiation is called Sparsh Diksha. That is, just by touching the disciple, we get shaktipat in the disciple.

ceremonial initiation

A qualified guru, pleased with the loyalty of his gracious disciple, after seeing it with his divine vision, gives strong initiation. For example, just as a fish feeds its young by the mere sight of it, in this way the guru who performs shaktipat by mere sight, is called drag-diksha.

Manas Diksha Manas

power initiation

The Gyanvati Diksha, which the Guru gives by entering the body of the disciple through the path of Yoga and generating knowledge in his conscience, is called Shakti Diksha.

Shambhavi Diksha

By the mere sight, touch and conversation of the Guru, the soul attains the intellect that destroys the bondage and the exclusive love at the feet of God. Prakriti, intellect, three-dimensional ego and words, rasa, form, gandha spashaj (five tanmatras), these have been called eight pashas. From these the physical world arises. The community of these loops is the Mahachakra or the world wheel and God is beyond these eight loops of nature. This loop is weakened and destroyed by the yoga initiation given by the Guru.

Guru Purnima 2021:Who can give Guru Diksha

Who is given Guru Diksha In the Shiva Purana, Lord Shiva explains the importance of giving initiation to a deserving disciple to Mata Parvati as follows- Oh, the chanting which is done without obedience, actionless, faithless and without following the law, it is fruitless. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . This sentence establishes the importance of Guru Diksha. After initiation, the guru and the disciple become partakers of each other’s sins and virtuous deeds. According to the scriptures, the guru and the disciple become partners in the fruits of one sixth of all the actions of each other. This is the reason that initiation is given only after thinking.

Now the question arises that who is eligible for initiation? Diksha is given to a person who is devoted to religion, having good values and recluse. The process of exchange after initiation depends on the capability of both the Guru and the disciple. In initiation, the importance of the master being complete is there, but the most important is that of the disciple being qualified. Because the success of initiation depends on the ability of the disciple. If the disciple is unable to imbibe the energy and knowledge of the Guru and apply it in his life, that is, if he does not implement it, then even the best process becomes in vain. Therefore, most of the gurus give special initiation only after testing the patience, dedication and ability of the disciple through various methods for a period of one year or even more. Such initiation destroys the sins of mind, word and deed and imparts ultimate knowledge.
