The Rajasthan Agriculture Department has created ‘Raj Kisan Organic’ mobile app, through which the purchase and sale of organic products in the state can be done online from the comfort of their homes.

Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria said that 90 organic producer groups are registered in the Rajasthan State Organic Certification Organization, with which more than 20 thousand farmers are associated.
These farmers are producing organic grains, organic vegetables, organic spices and organic fruits, but they find it difficult to find buyers to sell their produce. To get rid of this, ‘Raj Kisan Organic’ mobile app has been developed to provide an online platform to the farmer and the consumer.

Kataria said that by registering on this app, producers and merchant-consumers can interact and sell and buy produce. In this, both individual and group certified farmers can get themselves registered. So far 160 farmers and 29 buyers have been registered on this app.

Agriculture Department’s Principal Secretary to Government Bhaskar A Sawant said that farmers can register as sellers by downloading the ‘Raj Kisan Organic’ mobile app from Google Play Store.
The Rajasthan government is encouraging farmers to promote organic farming. For this, a total of 5000 clusters are being implemented in all the districts of the state. Efforts are being made to reduce the dependence on chemical fertilizers to increase the yield by promoting eco-protected agriculture through organic farming.
