In his address from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 75th anniversary of Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi focused on small farmers. In the midst of the farmers’ movement, he talked about those farmers whose voice could not be raised. The PM said that more than 80 percent of the farmers of the country are those who have less than 2 hectares of land. Due to the division of houses, it is getting reduced further. In the earlier policies that were made in the country, the focus on these small farmers was not done as much. Now our government is taking decisions keeping these small farmers in mind. Agriculture is doing reforms.

They have to be given new facilities. He also told about the strength of the cooperative movement. He said that the power of collectivism is visible in cooperatives.
Warehouse will be built in every block
Prime Minister Modi mentioned another big problem of farmers. He said that a plan to build warehouses in every block of the country would be implemented. Actually, in the absence of warehouse, farmers either have to sell their crop at throwaway prices or it gets spoiled. The Central Government has created an Agriculture Infrastructure Fund of Rs 1 lakh crore for this. Under this, you can also build a warehouse by taking a loan at a very cheap rate.

PM Modi said that we have started giving financial help to the farmers to make them strong. Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, an amount of more than 1.5 lakh crores has been deposited directly in the bank accounts of more than 10 crore farmer families of the country. The Prime Minister said that there are more than 8 crore sisters belonging to our Self Help Group in the village, they make more than one product. Now the government will prepare an e-commerce platform for their products to get a big market in the country and abroad.
